The Sims have been a very popular PC game since the first one was released. The latest installment, The Sims 4, has been on PC since back in 2014. Now it looks like the popular simulation game will be coming to the Xbox One towards the end of this year.
This is very surprising news after there was a mess of rumors that The Sims 4 was coming to consoles. Amidst the rumors a senior producer at EA said, "I want to clarify that we have no plans for a console version of The Sims 4 anytime in the near future. Ignore the rumors." This seemed to dash most hoped from gamers that the popular game would ever make it to anywhere except for PCs.
However, now there is a store page for the game on Xbox One, and it shows a release date of November 17th. It doesn't look like a dumbed down version either, and appears to be the full experience. There is also a bonus for pre-ordering that gets you "perfect patio stuff" that seems to include things from clothes to a hot tub. You can check out the Microsoft store page for yourself here. It doesn't have a set price in the store yet though, so you can't put in for your pre-order quite yet.
People have been wanting The Sims 4 on consoles for a while now, and it looks like fans are finally getting their wish as long as they have an Xbox One. With it coming to Xbox One now, do you think they'll also bring it over to PS4 or the Switch; or do you think they only moved it to the Xbox because of how Microsoft made making games work from PC to Xbox easier for developers? Do you think they'll sell a lot more copies of The Sims 4 now that it's heading to Xbox One? Do you even care at all? Be sure to let me know on Twitter where my tag is still @spencerhavens.
