Thanks to another Amazon leak we have news of another big game coming out later this year. That game is a remaster of the first three Spyro games. However, shortly after the leak Activision announced that the trilogy was coming. So now we know for sure when it will be released and to what systems.
The Spyro series was originally on the PlayStation, and the first game came out in 1988. The series seemed dead until they released the Skylanders series where physical toys mixed with video games. It was one of the more popular games in the genre, but has died down recently.
The confirmation came with a website, and a trailer. Activision says it will have "scaled-up HD graphics." They've also recreated the levels using modern technology, but staying faithful to the originals. They hit on how they've improved everything from the ground up for the game while still making it feel like the originals. Fans will have to wait and feel for themselves if that's true or not.
The Spyro Reignited Trilogy will be releasing on September 21 for PS4 and Xbox One. It will have the first three Spyro games, Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon. This is also the second big remaster for Activision with their last one being the remaster of Crash Bandicoot. If this does well too, who knows what else from the old days they may remaster next.
